Adult Faith Formation

Adult Formation Opportunities

Faith formation isn’t just for kids—it is for everyone! We provide dynamic faith experiences for all ages.

At OLPH, we offer opportunities for adults to deepen their personal relationship with Christ, keep up with lifelong spiritual growth, and effectively live out their faith in the modern world. Faith is not static! Ongoing catechesis ensures adults can confidently understand Scripture, navigate daily moral challenges, and pass on their faith to others. Key reasons for ongoing adult faith formation include the following

  • Lifelong Discipleship: Learning does not end after receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) views adult formation as the "central task" of the Church's educational mission, designed to foster ongoing conversion and a deeper love for God.
  • Navigating Complex Modern Issues: Ongoing study helps adults integrate the Gospel with modern life, allowing them to make ethical decisions and engage with contemporary social justice issues from a Catholic perspective.
  • Better Parenting and Mentorship: Adults are the primary catechists for their children and communities. Continuing education equips them to answer questions about the faith and model Christian living for the next generation.
  • Understanding Scripture and Tradition: Classes, bible studies, and retreats provide the tools to properly read the Bible, understand the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and appreciate the rich history and liturgy of the Church.

Lunch & Learn

Join Father Kyle as he breaks open an important aspect of our Catholic faith and explains how it applies in our lives.

Sessions take place on a quarterly basis right after the 10:30 am Sunday Mass.  Lunch is provided!

Check our calendar or the Events & Opportunities area of our home page to find the next Lunch & Learn date.

OLPH Book Club

Roughly once a year, parishioners are invited to read a book together, then attend sessions to unpack what they have read.  In Spring 2026, we read The Great Divorce by C. S. Lewis.  Check out our bulletin and calendar for details on the next opportunity - you won't want to miss it!

Exploring the Faith

Anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic faith or desiring to become Catholic are invited to join our Sunday morning Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) sessions.
